Brook,

I've been to a lot of gyms around the world, and have NEVER seen a pulley machine held together with fraying rope, "marine" or otherwise. That, to me, is unsafe and does not inspire the confidence required to become a member. Fix that and I really have no problem with your gym. It doesn't have the number of cardio machines I'd ideally like, but really, that's not the problem, or the reason HPG gets a C. The biggest issue is safety, and honestly, if I were you, I'd look into either buying new machines or getting ones with reinforced cables to make the patrons who use those machines feel safe.

Hyde Park Gym has 3 ellipticals, 3 treadmills, 2 spin bikes, 2 recumbent bikes, and yes, 3 AirDynes. And those aren't jump ropes. They are 1000 pound marine ropes that are stronger than cables. How do you give HPG a C and give a gym "not for people who are serious about working out" a B?
